The Malawi Union of the Blind (MUB) was established in 1994 as a local non-governmental organization of blind and partially sighted people. The main aim of forming MUB was to bring blind and partially sighted people together, create a common and unified voice, raise awareness on problems affecting persons with visual impairment and implementing courses of action to address identified needs.
Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD) is a non profit making organization of the Deaf formed in 1992 and registered with the government of Malawi in 1996 with the aim of addressing various problems being faced by the Deaf.
Disabled Women in Development (DIWODE) is a disabled person’s organisation (DPO) for women with disabilities and was established in 1996 to fight for the rights of disabled women, seek support and encourage the economic empowerment of disabled women in Malawi. The Mission of DIWODE is to promote the interests of women through capacity building, participation and economic empowerment. DIWODE is one of the founding members of FEDOMA.
VIHEMA was registered under the laws of Malawi, Trustees incorporation act on 10th June 2008 to advocate for the rights and needs of the deafblind people. Moreover deafblind people live in terrible situation and often are rejected or locked away by their families.

he Albino Association of Malawi (TAAM) is a non governmental organisation that was registered in 1997 and it is affiliated to the Federation of Disabled Organisation in Malawi (FEDOMA), which is the umbrella body for all disabled people organizations (DPOs). The aim of the association is to promote the advancement of people with albinism in Malawi. This organisation was formed after it was recognised that people with albinism face a lot of problems among others social stigma, discrimination, eye problem (low to severe low vision) and skin problem due to sun burn which may develop into skin cancer. The Albino Association of Malawi is composed of the executive committee who are all people with albinism. And has board of trustees.
